My World: January – March 2012

Hello Beautiful People

Welcome to my world! I thought it was about that time to start blogging again. It’s been a while, so I wanted to let you in on all the exciting things happening in my world!

So I’ve put together a small Vlogs, with video footage and pics of my past 3 months, Jan – Mar 2012.

Below I have also written about the events. I’d hate to write an essay, but here is my short dissertation of events… Hope you like.

January 2012

I was itching to get back into the studio, and start recording this Jan, so I did. Constantly writing, so I have a bunch of songs ready to record. The creative/recording experience is always something I enjoy the most. Especially when working with great musicians, the creative vibes flow with ease.

19th January 2012 ‘BBC INTRODUCING MUSICIANS MASTERCLASS’

So towards the end of 2011, I received an email from the BBC Introducing Team, notifying me that I had been nominated to attend the ‘BBC Introducing Musicians Masterclass 2012′. 250 Musicians within the UK had been selected to attend this Masterclass, so you can only imaging my reaction! Yes speechless, but very grateful that my talent and efforts are being noticed! I kindly accepted.

So the event took place on the Thurs 19th Jan 2012, between the legendary ‘Abbey Road Studios’ and ‘Maida Vale’. A full day filled with different Seminars and Workshops.

I met and connected with a some great Musicians, and had the chance to get advise from the likes of ‘Friendly Fires’ and ‘Jamie Cullum’, plus more.

18th Jan 2012 COURTYARD SESSION – THE FLY: with Speech Debelle

My friend ‘Speech Debelle’ asked me to perform with her at The Fly’s Courtyard Session, for her single ‘I’m with it’. This was a lot of fun, especially being around an uplifting team. To watch the performance video click here

February 2012

It was my birthday at the beginning of the month, so as always, I like to spend the time with my nearest and dearest. Unfortunately it snowed the Eve/Night I decided to celebrate.. But being me .. I made the most of it, dancing in the snow!

Later on in Feb, I did a few more performances with Speech:

15th Feb 2012 – XFM Radio – Xposure with John Kennedy

22nd Feb – BBC Radio 4 – (women’s hour)

23rd Feb 2012 – Speech Jazz Cafe

At the end of the month, I went back into the studio to record some new material.

29th Feb 2012 Litro Live Festival:

I performed a small Acoustic set for the ‘Litro Live Festival’ held at the ‘Kensington Gore Hotel’, where I met a few great bands such as ‘Dust’ and ‘Born Mad‘. Great night guys!

March 2012

My 2 Weeks Residency At THE TROUBADOUR (LONDON) 20th & 27th March 2012

I had an AMAZING 2 weeks down at The Troubadour. Played with my full band on both nights, and had 2 great groups of audiences.

Thank you to all who came down and supported, much appreciated! I hope to play there in the near future, so stay tuned!

So this is where I end I’m afraid … No more stories to tell for now, but look out for the next Vlogs in the coming months.
